He married Christina Bauman in Pennsylvania. Their life together and children are described in detail in the section on Daniel and Christina Brandstetter.On April 18, 1807, when he was about 26 years old, Daniel purchased his father's land in Heidelberg Township. The date of entry was not until April 15, 1850. He was listed in the 1812 tax list.
He brought his family to Ohio about 1818 where they were early pioneers.
Daniel died between 1825-1828 in Ohio. At the time of his death, he owned land in German Township, Clark County, Ohio. On April 9, 1828 an administrator was appointed for the Estate of Daniel Brandstetter in Clark County. After his death, his land and personal property were sold to pay his debts among which were debts to Henry Enoch for 28 gallons and 3 quarts of whiskey for $9.18 and to John Paul for 15 gallons and 3 quarts of whiskey for $6.08.
